As part of its celebrations of the 48th National Day, and held under the patronage of H.E. Mohammed bin Salem bin Said Al Tobi, Minister of Environment and Climate Affairs, Shell Development Oman, in collaboration with the ministry and Wetlands International, hosted a book launch for “Barr Al Hikman: Shorebird Paradise in Oman”. The book promotes the biodiversity of Oman’s Al Wusta Wetlands. The publication is part of a shared goal of endorsing the diverse ecosystems found in the Sultanate highlighting Oman’s story of growth and prosperity.

Today, Shell Overseas Holdings Limited (“Shell”) announced the completion of the sale of Shell Exploration and Production Oman Limited (“SEPOL”), which holds a 17% participating interest in the Mukhaizna Production Sharing Agreement in Oman, to IOCL Singapore PTE Ltd. (“ISPL”), a subsidiary of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IndianOil), for a transaction value of US $329 million. This acquisition includes the marketing rights for entitlement oil. The effective date of the transaction is 1st January 2017.

Shell Development Oman, will showcase their energy transition capabilities and social investment projects at the Oil and Gas West Asia (OGWA) exhibition and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Conference.  The exhibition will be held at Oman’s Convention and Exhibition Center from March 26th to 28th and Shell will be among 300 companies from 19 different countries to present a range of initiatives to key industry players. Shell’s ‘Solar into Schools’ project and ‘Shell Eco-marathon’ will be on full display at a dedicated exhibit.  Guests will be treated to an interactive round of virtual golf and a fun energy transition quiz.

Omani Students To Compete In Singapore At Shell’s Eco Marathon Asia

As part of the ‘Make the Future Festival’ held in Singapore, the Sultanate will again be participating in Shell Eco-marathon Asia. With a contingent of two futuristic cars competing, one from Sultan Qaboos University and the second from German University of Technology in Oman, the teams will challenge their peers on the track with their own energy-efficient designs. The marathon will bring over 120 student teams from 18 countries across Asia Pacific and the Middle East to put their self-built energy-efficient cars to the test.
