Shell Nawafidh

NAWAFIDH is designed to provide young Omani professionals with the opportunity to explore the future energy market through a structured and integrated technical and life skill curriculum. The objective of the program is to expose participants to the latest technology and application related to emerging new sources of energy and to participate in discussion groups hosting professionals & leaders in the energy market in Oman. The program is conducted in partnership with German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech) and Outward Bound Oman.

  • Building Technical Competencies

    Upon the successful participation in the programme, the participant will obtain the following certificates:

    1. Senior students in final or pre-final year registered in a bachelor programme willrecieve a Nawafidh certificate with a credit transfer letter of 4 ECTS, which can be added to students’ credit points (credit transfer is subject to student’s University/college acceptance).
    2. Recent graduates (less than five years) with a degree in science, engineering or technology, will obtain a training certificate issued by the Training and Smart Solution Center – GUtech, accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation in Oman.

  • Developing Life Skills

    Certificate, high impact learning outcome and an authentic adventure.

  • Executive Leaders Forums

    Attend forums hosted by top professionals and energy leaders who are invited as key speakers in this program.

  • Networking

    Become part of an integrated academic and industrial network and stay connected with the latest on this program.

  • To provide participants with right platform to learn the latest on emerging energies and their application in Oman through live projects.
  • To collaborate with key academic and training partners and provide participants with a solid foundation on technical and soft skills, which are essential for transitioning to the new and emerging energies.
  • To bridge the gap between Academia & Industry through the right discussions and workshops.
  • To enable networking, peer assistance, staying connected, motivating and empowering participants to lead the transition into new market.
Our Target Audience

  • Professional participants who are keen to learn new or emerging energy markets
  • Omani national residing in Oman only (to be able to participate in fieldwork and visits)
  • Recent graduates with Science, Engineering and Economics degrees (less than 5 years)
Course Commitment

Program Commitment

  • 30 technical sessions (two hours each), conducted online during the late afternoon, over a duration of 6 months (over the academic year calendar).
  • 3 non-technical (soft skills) sessions conducted over two-day weekends.
  • Exclusive lectures by energy leaders and decision makers on Oman’s future energy market.
