Shell Nawafidh
NAWAFIDH is designed to provide young Omani professionals with the opportunity to explore the future energy market through a structured and integrated technical and life skill curriculum. The objective of the program is to expose participants to the latest technology and application related to emerging new sources of energy and to participate in discussion groups hosting professionals & leaders in the energy market in Oman. The program is conducted in partnership with German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech) and Outward Bound Oman.

To provide windows into how the future of the energy market is shaping up and what skills are critical to facilitate the transition to this new market position. Our vision is inspired by local and global visions to move into clean and renewable energy as main source of future energy.

Our Objective
- To provide participants with right platform to learn the latest on emerging energies and their application in Oman through live projects.
- To collaborate with key academic and training partners and provide participants with a solid foundation on technical and soft skills, which are essential for transitioning to the new and emerging energies.
- To bridge the gap between Academia & Industry through the right discussions and workshops.
- To enable networking, peer assistance, staying connected, motivating and empowering participants to lead the transition into new market.

Our Target Audience
- Professional Participants who are keen to learn or develop their knowledge in energy markets.
- Omani national residing in Oman only (to be able to participate in fieldwork and visits)
- Recent graduates with Science, Engineering and Economics degrees (less than 5 years)

Program Commitment
- 11 technical modules offered over 40 virtual lectures and 20 in-person activities.
- 4 soft skills training courses, three indoor and one outdoor course (require camping in nature).
- 3 Nawafidh Talks will be held as collaborative challenge sessions supervised by energy leaders and decision makers on Oman's future energy market, to reflect on the learning outcomes from the technical modules and soft skills training.
- 1 team project to tackle a scientific/technical problem proposed and supervised by academia/industry pioneers.
